International Medical Corps has worked in Cameroon since 2008, when we responded to a large influx of refugees from the Central African Republic (CAR). In the years since, we have provided lifesaving assistance during food crises and recurrent floods, responded to outbreaks such as cholera and COVID-19, and cared for internally displaced people, returnees and refugees as they fled ongoing violence in the Lake Chad Basin and in the Northwest and Southwest regions. Cameroon faces ongoing, complex and underfunded humanitarian crises stemming from armed regional and internal conflict, as well as from the hundreds of thousands of refugees seeking shelter and safety within Cameroon’s borders. In 2026, 2.9 million people are estimated to be in need of humanitarian assistance, while services target as priority less than 50% of PiN (1.1 million). Simultaneously, poverty, natural disasters and epidemic outbreaks harm local populations and strain already overburdened healthcare systems. To support his program in Cameroon, International Medical Corps is looking for a Program Officer who will work in the National Coordination Office.
