Head of Finance (Cameroon)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Head of Finance to join a leading international shipping line within their operations in Cameroon.

As the Head of Finance, you will be a key member of the leadership team in Cameroon. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day finance and accounting activities and for driving strategic financial initiatives. The role will involve financial management, business planning, risk mitigation, stakeholder engagement, and building robust financial frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement long-term financial strategies.
• Serve as a key advisor to the Country Manager on business strategy, financial planning, and performance.
• Oversee the financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, in compliance with Cameroonian regulations and IFRS.
• Manage all aspects of cash flow, liquidity planning, and capital management to optimize working capital.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, labor laws, and corporate governance policies.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to drive key business decisions.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Lead business process improvements and digital transformation initiatives within the finance function.
• Build and mentor a high-performing finance team.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in senior leadership positions
• Proven experience in the logistics or shipping industry
• Strong understanding of Cameroonian tax regulations, labor laws, and IFRS.
• Advanced skills in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
• Expertise in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial management software.
