Main Responsibilities
Implement all Child Situation Monitoring activities, including identification, collection of data/documentation, and provision of assistance, referrals and confidential data storage (both hard and soft/electronic copies). The Child Situation Monitor will ensure compliance with the DRC Information Sharing Protocol at all times.
Conduct regular visits to assigned field locations and collect information on Child Protection using DRC procedures and forms for appropriate interventions including referrals;
Organize key informant interviews and direct observations, ensuring focal point confidentiality of information;
Flag any individual protection cases (particularly Child Protection cases) that arise during monitoring activities to the Child Protection Officer;
Approach the community in a culturally sensitive manner and support the organization of Community Based Child Protection activities;
Fill in Key Informant Interviews and Direct Observations on mobile devices and submit forms as soon as internet access becomes available;
Carry out weekly filing for the Child Protection unit and perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Keep accurate records of daily activities, beneficiaries involved, and issues identified.
Regularly update databases according to DRC procedures.
Contribute to the preparation of monthly work plans in accordance with project objectives and outputs.
Contribute to the preparation and timely submission of all reports and updates to donors, partners, DRC office and other interested stakeholders where appropriate.
Maintain relationship between the community / the beneficiaries and the organization and coordinate with relevant stakeholders in the field as appropriate to ensure a smooth implementation of activities.
Proactively participate in regular program meetings and provide updates as appropriate.
Ensure close coordination and communication with other elements of DRC program to encourage an integrated approach to program delivery.
Support with translation and interpretation tasks if and when necessary.
Adhere to DRC's national staff policy guidelines
Comply with DRC's Code of Conduct at all times
Support in induction process for new staff where relevant
Perform any other relevant tasks as requested by the Line Manager and/or Child Protection Manager/Coordinator
