Location: CRID, Yaoundé, Cameroon.
This project, Catalyzing the Adoption of a Novel Vector Control Toolbox (CANVeCT), is a multidisciplinary study in Cameroon designed to evaluate the protective effectiveness of spatial repellents (SRs) in reducing malaria transmission and influencing insecticide resistance profiles, compared with dual-active ingredient long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs). Funded by UNITAID, the study integrates epidemiology, entomology, mathematical modelling, social science, and health economics to generate robust evidence for including spatial repellents as an essential tool for malaria control and elimination. The project is implemented in close partnership with the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) and global health international institutions, including the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
